John Aquila:Yes that explain a lot, "Noah thought it was his wife".
He thought the whole earth was flooded, all the animals were on the boat.
Eve thought she was talking to a snake, it was a twig and Adam was playing a joke,
Eve was nearsighted.

"do not go beyond the things written"
by stuckinarut2 inthanks to bu2b and splash who mentioned this quote in another thread!.
but i thought it deserved a thread all of its own, such is the impact of this:.
the very best example of going beyond the things written comes from a 2008 watchtower.

Deuteronomy 4:2 , 12:32 and Rev.22:18-19 speaks of do not add or
take away from his word. The only revelation we have today is the
same committed to the apostles that was written down. This was what
the church accepted and practiced after the apostles that which was written,
NOT what is spoken. The same Paul who is claimed to write of traditions
specifically tell us, "do not go beyond what is written. How could he do this
if he approved of the apostles' teaching alongside the writings?

you may be able to see far distance but have trouble seeing things up close.
OK here is where my mind take off. Did they have spectacles in Noah day?Did
Methuselah after living 400 years have 20-20 vision or was he blind as a bat.
No way was Enoch able to read anything after 300 years.. I know what some are thinking, they
had perfect eye sight. So God created cataract...

OK, my daughter-in law is a Mormon. It was a recital for her music students, ages
3-15. I was sitting there thinking this is odd, most of her students are not Mormons and
the church gave her the ok to use the Church. It was performed in the chapel.
There was refreshment set up as you enter the chapel and folks fixed their plates and set in
the chapel and ate while the kids performed.
Holy sh--t, try that in the KH. Kids performing worldly songs, and my daughter-law addressing
the audience from the platform.
Anyway she did a great job with her students.

I believe they finally put my name on the do not call list,
the evil Apostate list. I see them knocking on all my neighbors
doors but walk right past our home, hell I'm a little jealous.
It made my day when they use to come by. LOL
If they ever come again to my door I will ask them how
many ex-JW's have you mat at the doors, and why are so many
of your young folks leaving the truth.

Senior and junior year in high school. Prior to those years I wasn't popular
with the ladies, LOL. I stood all of 5'4 and 135 lb. My junior year I was a starter
on the basketball team for the school and I grew to 6 feet. The calls and smiles
from the ladies began, my senior year Oh Boy. Dating the junior class queen, invited
to all the parties, winning the big game with time running out and the crowd lifting
me up and carrying me on their shoulders. Next day news paper james win game
against cross town rival. Voted most likely to play professional basketball. That
all ended, I was drafted by Uncle Sam. But those were good years, (HS 1964-65).
